Italy is currently one of the last two EU member states without a National Human Rights Institution (NHRI). This high-level roundtable brings together Italian stakeholders with European human rights actors to discuss the way forwards to establish an Italian NHRI in compliance with the UN Paris Principles, and to let it function in an independent and effective manner once set up. The roundtable will be of an interactive nature, and the public is encouraged to intervene in the discussion. The roundtable will be followed by a networking reception.
