Roundtable – New partnership for the rule of law, democracy and human rights in EU enlargement countries
ENNHRI is organising a roundtable titled “New partnerships for the rule of law, democracy and human rights in EU enlargement countries” to explore opportunities for how these might be strengthened.
The event is hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Andreas Schieder and will take place in Brussels on Tuesday 20 February, 15:00 – 17:00 CET.
The roundtable will bring together NHRIs in European Union (EU) enlargement countries with different stakeholders, including MEPs, representatives of European institutions and civil society organisations. NHRIs will present key findings from their national rule of law reports, with this followed by an exchange of views.
The ultimate objective is to build a new partnership for promoting and protecting human rights and the rule of law by strengthening, supporting and connecting NHRIs.
ENNHRI and NHRIs have reporting on the rule of law and human rights since 2020 and have contributed to consultations for the European Union’s enlargement progress reports. Read more on ENNHRI’s work on rule of law and its 2023 rule of law report.
