Launch meeting – guidance for NHRI work towards a new UN Convention on the Human Rights of Older Persons

ABOUT EVENT

ENNHRI is holding a launch meeting for its recently published guidance paper on current engagement opportunities for European NHRIs to work towards a new UN Convention on the Human Rights of Older Persons.

Organised by ENNHRI’s Core Group on Older Persons, this will take place on Wednesday 25 January, 13:00 – 14:00 CET.

The meeting is an opportunity for European NHRIs to learn more about the current state of debate on the need for a UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons.

It aims to strengthen members’ understanding of the processes for creating the new Convention and the ways in which NHRIs can bolster meaningful engagement on this at the national and international level.

Other stakeholders working on the rights of older persons are invited to attend to gain a better understanding of the role of and opportunities for cooperation with European NHRIs in this process.

Read the meeting agenda for full information. Register for the meeting by 24 January 2023, 14:00 CET. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link to join shortly before the meeting.

If you have questions on the event or guidance paper, please contact the Co-chairs of ENNHRI’s Core Group –  Anna Chabiera (anna.chabiera@brpo.gov.pl) and Nino Shalamberdize (nshalamberidze@ombudsman.ge) -, Michaël Merrigan (Michael.Merrigan@firm-ifdh.be), or Klara Paro (klara.paro@ennhri.org).
