Meeting of heads of National Human Rights Institutions – building the resilience of NHRIs
ABOUT EVENT
The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is organising a meeting of heads of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from the OSCE region focused on building resilient NHRIs. This meeting will take place on the 5 and 6 September 2022.
The discussions between the 60 representatives of NHRIs, inter-governmental organizations (IGOs), NHRI networks and other regional partners gathered in Warsaw will aim to encourage the institutions to build resilience when faced with potential threats.
On the first day, participants will hear about the results of ODIHR’s 2021 monitoring of threats against NHRIs in the OSCE region and its new Guidance Tool on Strengthening the Resilience of NHRIs. The second day will focus on the support provided to NHRIs under threat by IGOs, NHRI networks and other NHRIs.
Participants will also have the occasion to discuss, share good practices and lessons learned, and take part in working groups.
