Each year, 10 December marks Human Rights Day, the day when the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This year’s Human Rights Day is themed ‘Youth Standing Up for Human Rights’, aiming to highlight how youth all over the world advance human rights. European National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) play a crucial role in the European human rights landscape. They are committed to promoting and protecting human rights, translating international human rights instruments into a national reality.
